The USC-SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry (ICCI) is the outcome of the strong partnership between University of Southern California (USC) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) that was forged more than a decade ago. As a joint institute between USC and SJTU, ICCI will draw high quality resources from both mother universities to ensure that it will be a true innovator in delivering top class education, research, training and social services focused on culture-related industries, as well as an interdisciplinary platform for diverse international cooperation and industrial collaboration. With strong supports from both partner universities and the Chinese government, ICCI starts from offering professional master degree programs of Communication & Journalism and will gradually expand to other fields later on. ICCI models itself after the world-class interdisciplinary institutions in terms of operation and management mechanism, academic environment, faculty expectations, graduate program curriculum and research development. English is the main teaching and work language. ICCI now globally invites applications for all ranks of teaching and research positions in fields of cultural and creative industry development, new media studies and management, arts and film industry, communication and journalism, digital media, new media technology and other related subjects. These positions are open to top caliber applicants from all around the world and will be filled on a continuing basis. Candidates should possess doctoral degrees in related fields and demonstrate great research accomplishments or potential. ICCI offers competitive salary packages commensurate with academic preparation, and full-time teaching or equivalent experience.

岗位职责

Successful candidates are expected to develop vigorous research projects, mentor graduate students, teach graduate classes, and participate in other institutional activities. The main job responsibilities are included but not limited within bellows:

1. The instructional assignment includes lecture and possible lab classes in the discipline. Assignments are based on the assumption of workload of forty hours weekly, including but not limited to class preparation and delivering, office hours, curriculum design & planning, student learning outcomes assessment, program review, committee work, student activities, and other duties per specific unit agreement;

2.Participation in institutional service activities, decision making processes and associated work regarding curriculum, discipline/program development, improvement and outcomes assessment, and other professional matters are expected of all faculty members;

3.Responsibilities to maintain a high standard of professional conduct codes and ethics appropriate to the listed academic positions.
