Postdoc position in human pluripotent stem cell 3D differentation
Lab of Biological Engineering, Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies (SIAIS), China. Salary commensurate with qualifications.
A postdoc research position is available immediately in Prof. Elvassore’s Lab of Biological Engineering at Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies (SIAIS) in China (http://siais.shanghaitech.edu.cn/eng/research8.asp). SIAIS is an emerging antibody research institute, recently founded by ShanghaiTech University. The institute has state-of-the-art core facilities for high-throughput screening studies.
Elvassore’s lab develops microtechnologies to accurately control the culture microenvironment of human pluripotent stem cells during reprogramming, expansion, and differentiation. We are seeking a self-motivated postdoc scientist to study the influence of cell shape and cell microenvironments on early stage of human pluripotent stem cell differentiation. In particular, we aim at understanding how biochemical-biomechanical specifications of local cellular environment and 3D spatial arrangement of organelles within the cell affect cellular functions and cell differentiation towards specific human tissues.
Candidates should have strong background in human pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation and hands-on experience with molecular biology and fluorescence imaging. Experience with image analysis and bioinformatics is desired, but not mandatory. The position remains open until filled. Interested candidates should email their curriculum vitae, a cover letter with a brief personal statement of research experience, and contact information for three references to HR(siais@shanghaitech.edu.cn), cc to Prof. Nicola Elvassore (nelvassore@shanghaitech.edu.cn).
