International Student Registration Instruction Jimei University 2017
All international freshmen shall register at Jimei University with Letter of Admissionon Wednesday, September 13th, 2017.Students should only register on the day appointed. If you cannot register on time in case of emergency, you or your guardians should contact us in written form or by phone call in advance. When your request is approved, you may postpone the registration for no more than two weeks. Students who fail to register within the approved period will be disqualified from enrollment.
I.The following documents shall be submitted upon registration:
1.Original Letter of Admission.
2.Passport and 3 photocopies of passport.
3.3 one-inch color photos and 3 two-inch color photos.
4.Original highest degree certificate & transcripts. Please note that Degree-Conferring Students’ highest degree certificate & transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
II. Fees:
1.Enrollment Fee(RMByuan/per-person):RMB500.
2.Tuition(RMByuan/per-person/per-year):
①RMB25,000 for Ph.D. programs, RMB20.000 forMaster programs.
②RMB13,500 forUndergraduate programs, RMB13,500 for Language Training Students.
3.AccommodationFeefor International Students’ Residential Building
(RMByuan/per-person/per-year):
RMB9,600 for single room, RMB 4,800 for twin room, RMB2,400 for quad room.
4.Medical Insurance(RMByuan/per-person/per-year): RMB1000.
5.Textbook(RMByuan/per-person/per-year): RMB600.
III. Payment
1 Payment Methods: Cash or Wechat.
2.The tuition fees of Fujian Provincial Government Scholarship or Tan kah Kee Scholarshipwinners will be directly reimbursed from the scholarship.
3.Please bring your passport and a copy of the passport to open a bank account at the bank appointed by the college you are studying at. Your bank card opened at the appointed bank will be thereafter used to pay various fees owing to the university during your study at Jimei University.
IV. Health Check-up
1.The Physical Examination Record for Foreigners (including the original form and other medical reports such as X-ray, electrocardiogram, blood test reports, etc.) is required for the Residence Permit application after your arrival in China. Students who have taken a physical examination and obtained the Physical Examination Form in their home country should have their original forms and medical reports certified by the Xiamen Entry and Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau (certification fee: about RMB 60). Students who meet the health requirements will receive a Health Certificate, which they can apply for a Residence Permit.
2.Students who have not taken a physical examination before their arrival in China should proceed to the Xiamen Entry and Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau as arranged by the University to undergo a physical examination after registration. Students who meet the health requirements will receive a Health Certificate (physical examination fee: about RMB 550). Please note that the fees quoted are for reference only and are subject to change without prior notice.

V. Notes
1.International students studying in China should hold a valid foreign passport and a visa of the type relevant to their student status. Any student who provides false identity documents will be disqualified from enrollment.
2.According to relevant national regulations, the University will review admission qualifications within 3 months after registration. Only those who pass the review will be officially registered. A valid passport, original certificate & transcripts of the highest educational attainment are required for the review.
3.Under Jimei University’s regulations, students cannot complete their registration until they have paid all their fees in full, including tuition, accommodation and insurance fees, within the required time limit.
4.In accordance with the Chinese Ministry of Education’s regulations, international students are required to purchase International Students Insurance from Insurance Company of China on registration. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to complete the registration, extend their visa or change the type of their visas. The awardees of Fujian Provincial Government Scholarships or Tan kah Kee Scholarships who fail to buy insurance will be considered as for forfeiting the scholarships.
5.Please take care of your personal belongings. If you’re carrying a large sum of cash, it is advisable to deposit it in the bank.
